Spring has sprung at last in the woodland area at school!
The snow drops have bloomed and the daffodils are showing their buds. The trees are beginning to awaken from their winter slumber. The wildlife are settling into their new home, birds are looking for nesting sites and the foxes continue to visit our wonderful woodland.
Following our funding from Tesco’s, a recent visit from The Tesco Project Manager was very positive and they were full of compliments about the fantastic student achievement in developing the schools woodland into a natural and sustainable educational resource. As a result of this meeting, The Tesco Groundworks Project is now complete.
The development for the woodland craft area for all students, sowing the wild grasses and planting 420 trees donated by the Woodland Trust.
We are currently looking for funding opportunities to develop a black smith area, pole lathes, shave horses.
We are thrilled to tell you that we have just won a grant from The Edina Trust to provide wind power to our woodlands power sources!
Busy times indeed but not that busy to say a huge THANKYOU to all the students that have helped drive the woodland project forward.
See soon you with a summer update :-)
